Interactive stories

Stories are relatively new on Instagram, and brands are only just finding ways that they can be used to engage customers.

Burger King Spain used Instagram’s stories feature with the polling functionality to let customers create their own Whopper. Per the below video, followers were given a series of options to customise their favourite fillings before receiving a special discount code to redeem their chosen burger.

The stunt was original and powerful, engaging 80% of the account’s followers to the point where BK ran out of redeemable codes within three hours.

Meet your matcha

Matcha is finely ground green tea powder which has all but taken over Instagram. The powder can be boiled in water to make hot Japanese-style tea or it can be used as a flavouring in coffee and cake.
